Five Ounce Mix of Fall SECONDS, 5oz, COE 96 Murrini Millefiori

The Big Mix consists of the designs shown and will have about 25-26 murrini designs in it. Not all packages will have a pinecone, but if there isn’t a pinecone, a brown mushroom will be in its place. 

What’s a SECOND? Some of the reasons a murrini cane might be a second is the design may be toward the beginning or end of the pull where it is just starting to form or that is past the perfect part of the design, or maybe it’s a daisy that is a bit “organic” in shape meaning it become crooked during the pull. It may also have a few pin holes due to trapped air OR they might be perfect on the inside but have a chip, ding or inclusion along the side. Seconds are wonderful as they are still totally usable but at a great price point!

These murrini were hand-pulled by me in my glass shop’s vitrigraph kiln, annealed and tested. See dime for size reference. They were photographed in the best lighting possible to show accurate colors (however all computer monitors render colors differently). I use Oceanside fusible glass unless specified in the listing. COE 96. These lovely seconds are half the price of my regular murrini. :)

This listing is for 5 ounces (Approx. 26 canes). Once received, the 2-inch long canes can be snipped as thick or thin as you’d like. If snipped into 3mm chips, you will get approximately 15 pieces per cane. Some designs will be best at a tack fuse and some work in all temperatures. If the murrini cane has an outer shape, a light tack is usually recommended. Test tiles are recommended to confirm results from temperatures in your kiln.
