January 27, 2024 Soft and Subtle

This week’s colors are lovely, soft and muted. I’ve done Champagne and Chambray mixes before, so it’s some of the same as far as the tulips and ombré leaves, but with some fun new daisy designs and leaves (long slender ones) that are perfect for tulips! I also pulled a batch of Cardinals and will continue to offer them each week if I can, until everyone has what they need.

So here’s what’s up this week! Champagne and Chambray is the color palette! All Oceanside COE 96

Champagne and Chambray Big Mix

This mix is weighing in heavier than normal as you’ll get 12 canes in your package. Two each of the six designs: Champage Daisy, Champagne and Chambray Daisy, Mariner Daisy with Chambray Center, Chambray Tulips, Chambray Slender Leaves and the mariner to Champagne Ombré leaf. The daisies are all spectacular fully fused but the tulip and leave’s shapes are best at a light tack. I’ll have a sample of these designs fully fused and tack fused as a side by side comparison. Mix and match them or have them all in a group. Everything this week works so lovely together. So many options. 1.75-2oz+ $38

Here’s a sample of a tack fuse on the left and a full fuse on the right. I had my murrini too close to each other in the full fuse (positioned like the tack fuse grouping) and it didn’t allow them room to fully spread out evenly.

Chambray Tulip and Slender Leaf Duo

This duo is perfect as these leaves went so well with the tulips! NOTE!! You’ll get two leaves to one tulip so you have the option for the double leave on your design. Size of the petals and tulips vary, so you’ll have 4 tulips to 8 leaves up to 6 tulips to 12 leaves. Package weight is also on the heavy side. 1.5+ $28

Daisy Trio

This week I also packaged the daisies as a trio so more people could have the opportunity to sample all the colors. These are wonderful fully fused as the centers shrink inward and the petals bloom out! Perfect for the flip and fuse technique or also lovely tack fused! I prefer snipping them on the thinner side with the Chipper nipper (2-3mm) especially if just tack fusing. The daisy on the left has Chambray petals with a Champagne center. These colors will become more pronounced in a full fuse, but will still look similar in a tack fuse. 1.5oz $27

Left fully fused from the front, Right fully fused from the underneath

Chambray Tulips

I have a few packages of just the tulips. They are best at a light tack fuse and will look beautiful on many background colors. Gorgeous as a single flower or in a field of flowers. 1.5oz $26

Chambray Slender Leaves

I say leaves, but you could also group these into a circle to form a larger spikey flower that would be really fun with a matching daisy in the center. But also perfect (and designed to be) as the leaf of a tulip. Lots of fun options. 1.5oz $26

Mariner to Champagne Ombré Leaves

These are not new, but are perfect for the color palette this week. They kinda give you that “Ohhhh Yeah” ❤️ feeling when you look at them. Best at a tack fuse if you want to keep the point pointy…but also fully fuse into something beautiful as well…just perhaps not that perfect looking leaf. 1.5oz $26

Next we have what I call “Mint” but is Oceanside’s “Pastel Green”. I love this color for spring.

Staring with Butterflies!

These have a mix of all the colors this week, but are heavier on the minty side. If you are new to snipping butterfly wings, the tutorial for this is under the “Tips” section of the website. I like them as thin as possible, but for good solid straight cuts, that’s probably 3mm at the thinnest with wheeled nippers. Use just one as a view of a butterfly from the side, or match up the black lines to make a full butterfly. Definitely looking at a light tack fuse here as they round out quickly. 1.5oz $27

The butterfly at a very light tack fuse. Top temp1300 with no hold

Mint Daisy and Oval Leaf Duo

This pretty mix is one of my favorites this week. Something about that beautiful mint center on the daisy that has bold vanilla cream petals is absolutely dainty and sassy at the same time! 🤣 Paired with this beautiful leaf they make a lovey pair. Fully fused or tack fused the daisy is perfect. The leaf will need a tack fuse to retain pointed tips, but is also unique and lovely at a fuller fuse. 1.5oz $28

Mint Tulip and Slender Leaf Duo

Like the Champagne and Chambray version, this duo is perfect as these leaves went so well with the tulips! NOTE!! You’ll get two leaves to one tulip so you have the option for the double leave on your design. Size of the petals and tulips vary, so you’ll have 4 tulips to 8 leaves up to 6 tulips to 12 leaves. Package weight is also on the heavy side. 1.5++ $28

To me, these leaves are perfect for the daisy. This is why you get two leaves to one flower in the mix so as to be able to create this design if you’d like.

Mint Tulips

I also have a few packages of just the Mint tulips. They are best at a light tack fuse and will look beautiful on many background colors. Gorgeous as a single flower or in a field of flowers. 1.5oz $26

Mint Slender Leaves

Like the Chambray version…I say leaves, but you could also group these into a circle to form a larger spikey flower that would be really fun with a matching daisy in the center. But also so perfect as the leaf of a tulip. Lots of fun options. 1.5oz $26

Ideas and Creations from this week’s Champagne/Chambray/Mint pulls:

Note:
on the above design I put slight pressure on it after fusing to make sure it all attached properly. When I did, the leaf on the left didn’t have enough hold to stay and it broke off. I had even sprinkled a little bit of clear powder between them. However, it was actually just as lovely without that leaf and I just gently smoothed that area where it met the other flowers and you’d never know. It honestly looked better without it. Happy accidents! 😀

I liked last week’s version of this scene better, but I tried to salvage scrap green and had a center line between the two pieces (going in different directions) that I attempted to cover with a tulip field. It’s a little busy for my taste, but alas…it was fun to make. ;)

Cardinals!

Yep Cardinals are back this week. This is a TACK fuse item. Each week I tweak the design just a bit and I think I’m loving where it is right now. 1.5 oz $27

This week’s cardinal tack fused in one of Mike’s new Open Bails. I tack fused the cardinal onto a stringer then placed leaves around (these leaves will be available next week). Top temp was 1300 with no hold. See where to find Mike’s bails and Joni’s stringers below.

Cardinal SECONDS

Over the past few weeks I’ve accumulated enough Cardinals to have a batch of seconds (only about 10 packages…so not many). They either have no beak yet, a bit too much of a beak, small pinholes from air trapped in the glass during the pull or chips or dings on the exterior of perfect ones. 1.5oz $19

Cardinal SECONDS TINIES

I’ve also accumulated a grouping of tiny Cardinal seconds. The beak is more exaggerated on these but they are TINY! I’ll have them in 1oz packages which has nearly two dozen birds in them. They’ll need tack fused for sure! $15
