January 6 ~ When LOVE is PRIMARY!

Happy New Year! I'm excited about the possibilities of the new website! This week it may not look like many new options, but there were LOTS of pulls involved in getting these mixes together. (Confession...I know this first week with the new site may be a bit bumpy on my end as far as orders and this will help me get a handle on the process with fewer new listings). I also wanted to start the year full of color! What better way to do that than to have the colors of the rainbow! For me, the rainbow stands for promises, and what a wonderful way to start the year. Not with resolutions, but with continued promises...and for us that means I will always give you the best product I can! Even though the format now looks a bit different, I promise to be here for any questions you have. Just reach out through the "Contact" button and the message comes right to my email!

WHAT'S UP THIS WEEK:

The Rainbow Ripple Petal Mix

This mix is made with Oceanside Fusible COE 96 glass, but the Purple flowers do have a touch of Youghiogheny URO 96, too. This mix is variegated, so you will sometimes see a fun variety of shades within the petals. Two of each of the 6 designs will be in the package (12 total two-inch canes). This is a TACK FUSE item. The outer frilly petals will round out quickly and a light tack fuse will be necessary to maintain that outer design. I take mine no hotter than 1300 with a 5 minute hold in my Paragon kilns. A test tile is recommended. 1.5+ oz. $28

I will have a few packages with just SOLID colors. Those will be sold in 1.5oz packages for $26 and will be found as an optional "variation" when you click on it.

Rainbow Variegated Hearts

Like the Ripple Petal mix, this heart mix is also made mainly with Oceanside Fusible COE 96 glass, but the purple hearts also have a touch of Youghiogheny URO 96, too. This mix is variegated, so you will definitely see a fun variety of shades and swirls within the design. This is also a TACK FUSE item. The outer heart shape will round out quickly and a light tack fuse will be necessary to maintain that outer design. I take mine no hotter than 1300 with a 5 minute hold in my Paragon kilns. A test tile is recommended. Two of each of the 6 designs will be in the package (12 total two-inch canes) 1.5+oz. $28

I will have a few packages with just SOLID colors. Those will be sold in 1.5oz packages for $26 and will be found as an optional "variation" when you click on it.

LOVE is PRIMARY Mix

This mix is made with all Oceanside Fusible COE 96 glass. Each package will have two each of the four designs. All the primary colors of the rainbow are in the mix, but some are combined together (yellow and orange, blue and green). I prefer these tack fused so they stay "as-is" however a full fuse is possible. Due to the darker colors in the center, sometimes you can see the underlying color shine through the outside opal color in the full fuse. These are also VERY cool when fully fused onto clear then flipped over (don't forget to reverse the letters if you are going to "Flip and Fuse"). Additional photos will be in the listing. 1.5+ oz. $28

SECONDS LOVE (Tack fuse)

These LOVE murrini are seconds because the "E" is a bit too narrow in the center. They will certainly need snipped as thin as possible and tack fused. In a full fuse the center of murrini shrink inward and the outer edges spread out. With this particular design, with it being clear around the outside, will make the word difficult to read. However, in a tack fuse, they'll be just lovely! They do work fine in a full fuse if you are going to use the "Flip and Fuse" method. They are made with Oceanside Fusible COE 96 glass and will be fun to play with. 1.5oz $19

In my GROWING LOVE project:

This is a 6X6 sheet of blue/white wispy Oceanside glass providing a really stunning sky background. The trunk of the tree is Oceanside Chocolate. Once the chocolate stringer branches were placed, I used my Slender Gorgeous Green Leaves for initial filler (one full 2-inch cane was used) and a little over a half-cane of each color of the hearts. I sprinkled medium clear frit around the tree to give it a little bit more form and had a few hearts falling from the tree (how else is LOVE going to grow!? ha ha). I sprinkled Amazon Green medium frit for the grass and have rainbow colored stringer as little stems. In general, from one cane of murrini you can get about 15 3mm slices, so in this scene I used only two slices of each LOVE murrini and about 3 slices of flowers. :) I lightly tack fused this project with this schedule:
300>1150>30 minutes
350>1300>5 minutes
9999>950>2 hours
150>700>10 minutes
300>room temp

NOTE! Joni from Aggie Glass Designs has COE 96 rainbow and chocolate stringer this week in case you are on the hunt for some. :)

HINTS on the HORIZON: Next week I'm going to have some amazing bold colors with new designs in reds, blacks, oranges...that will POP! Also...drumroll...you'll see my new Cardinal murrini (design shared with me by Lori Moreno). Stay tuned!
