Let’s start with some Housekeeping Notes:

First, The winning title in our contest this week was “Love in the Nest”.

Secondly, a tip about checking out. On the homepage of my website you immediately see some of the items for sale, but if you click on Murrini/Millefiori in the navigation at the top, then click "Current Collection" (on a phone you may need to click Current Collection twice) you'll find the same items but with a faster add-to-cart button below each listing. A reminder just in case you were not aware of this option.

Thirdly, I’ll make more Mama Cardinals soon. She didn't make as much as the other Cardinals, so I had her mostly in mixes so there were more of her to go around. Stay tuned for more. :)

Lastly, my plan was to have Twisties and Seconds tomorrow, but I had a minor vision hiccup this week and had to see my doctor, then a specialist. It ended up being a normal part of aging (*who ME?*) but it needed checked and it put me a bit behind schedule this week. So I’ll have Twisties next week along with some remakes, some new items, and two great projects. Thanks for your patience.

So, this week is SECONDS WEEK!

What’s a SECOND? Some of the reasons a murrini cane might be a second is the design may be toward the beginning or end of the pull where the design isn't "perfect" or maybe it’s a daisy that is a bit “organic” in shape meaning it become crooked during the pull. It may also have a few pin holes due to trapped air OR they might be perfect on the inside but have a chip, ding or inclusion along the side. Seconds are wonderful as they are still totally usable but at a great price point!

There will be 4 listings of SECONDS this week. There is a BIG 2oz. package we’ll call The Big Mix and then 3 others that are small 1oz. packages of some recent items.

The Big Mix of SECONDS

The Big Mix consists of the designs shown, but each Two Ounce order WILL NOT HAVE all of these murrini in it. Lisa worked hard to get the biggest variety in each package (very few if any repeats). If you order more than one, I’ll try to mix and match them to be as different as possible. If there is a Bee, she put wings to go with it and if there is a Fish, there will also be a tail. 2oz. (Approx.12 canes) for $23. Some murrini in this mix are better at a tack fuse and others are great in all temperatures. Typically, if it has an outer shape other than perfectly round, it will require a light tack fuse.

Birds and Butterflies SECONDS


This is a mix of recent butterflies and birds. Some of the birds will have tiny pin holes, a beak that isn’t quite formed or is a bit too long. It may have chips/scratches on the outside. The butterflies are mostly toward the end of the pull where the design has become more swirled than straight or has dings or scratches. Again your package will NOT have every design you see in the listing photo and there were lots of Yellow Cardinals, so your package might have two in it. 1oz. (Approx. 5-7 canes) for $13.

Cardinal Tiny SECONDS


The TINY Birds are adorable but are toward the end of the pull having elongated beaks and some may have tiny air holes. You’ll get a few of each Cardinal, but each order will be heavy on the Red and especially Yellow Cardinals. 1oz. (Approx. 20+ canes) for $13.

Poppy/Petal SECONDS


This is a mix of last week’s Poppy and Sunflower Yellow Petal. In this mix you might find a small pin hole, scratch, ding or design that’s toward the end of the pull. The order will have various sizes. 1oz. (Approx. 12+canes) for $12.

AND…since it is SECONDS week, your Goodie Bag will also be seconds (while supplies last). A rainbow mix of hearts that do have tiny holes in the center. They still have LOTS of potential by putting a dot over the top or maybe even one of your TINIES!
